Art Advocacy
In high school, I learned about the importance of art in social justice spheres. There are so many instances where words fail to describe the magnitude of historic, pervasive issues of racism, homophobia, misogyny, ableism, and so many more. Art has always been present to bridge this gap; it has been used to make statements and support revolutions. I take great pride in the history of art as it's been used by queer elders, Black power movements, feminist rallies, and so many other sites of social change. With my own art, I hope to continue this legacy in some part.
